iTouch Review: Apple’s iTouch A Good Buy

by iPhone Owner

The Apple iTouch is a fun device that gives you the ability to listen to or watch video and audio media files.  I use it most as an MP3 player while I workout, but the Touch is also flexible in that it enables you to listen to podcasts and audiobooks.  This is a tremendous feature if you are driving for 20 or more minutes.  Audio can be downloaded to the iTouch easily through iTunes and is easy to play back.

You can also play videos with the iTouch whether downloaded or streaming from the Internet.  The iTouch does give you Internet capability, but you must have access to the network which will be impracticable most of the time you are away from a free wireless network.  If you primarily want to surf using the iTouch, it is recommended you upgrade to the iPhone although the costs are associated with the iPhone are much higher – $600 without the plan.  The iTouch can be bought for around $150.

The iTouch can definitely serve as a top notch PDA.  You have easy access to a calendar, notepad, and clock.  As noted before, the iTouch can also be a workout buddy because it has a stop watch with lap reset in addition to it’s ability to furnish audio.  The screen resolution is absolutely prestine and the battery life is solid with 4 hours of play time minimum.

It is recommended that you get a iTouch cover to help prevent scratches to the outside shell casing on the PDA.  The iTouch is very thin and lightweight (it is lighter and less thick than the iPhone).

iTouch Rating

Overall: 4.5 stars

Detractors – can’t connect to the Internet unless you’re near wireless, iPhone provides same features but with phone and Internet

Best Assets – inexpensive, easy to use, great media player
